The competition was conducted as per the guidelines given by the ASISC Literary Events and Competitions. The event was organized to provide a platform for students to exhibit their debating skills, critical thinking, expression, articulation, and potential. Three schools participated: Alwardas Public School, De Paul School, and Timpany School, all from Visakhapatnam. Unfortunately, participants from St. Aloysius Anglo-Indian High School, Visakhapatnam, could not attend. Ten students representing the three schools participated in the Senior and Junior categories, each with lively and informative rebuttals.
The panel of judges included Dr. G Vijaya Lakshmi, Assistant Professor in English at Gayatri Vidya Parishad College, for both the Senior and Junior categories. The moderator for the event was Mrs. P. Sudha Patnaik. The Director Cum Principal of Timpany Schools, Mrs. Vandana Abraham, announced the debate topics.
Junior Category: Cashless and E-Transactions Have Made Life Safe, Easy, and Comfortable
Senior Category: The Freedom of Speech Has Become a Myth
In the Junior Category, the winners were Team D from Timpany School: Tummidi Sri Ananya and Aishwarya Ruchira Vivanta Rambilli. The runners-up were Team C from De Paul School: Sehrish Kamal and P. Neha Amrutha. The Best Speaker award was given to M. Satwik from Team A, Alwardas Public School.
In the Senior Category, the winners were Team B from Timpany School: Lucky Keswani and Muskan Choraria. The runners-up were Team A from Alwardas Public School: I. Jaivardhan and P. Mahesh. The Best Speaker award was given to P. Mahesh from Team A, Alwardas Public School.
All winners and runners-up were congratulated and presented with Certificates of Merit. All participants received Participation Certificates along with best wishes.
Students from the participating schools showcased eloquence, confidence, and flair in presenting their insights. They received valuable feedback from the judge, enhancing their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The rebuttals were lively and informative, making the event a platform for intellectual growth. The competition was conducted with utmost fairness and was a resounding success.
