Hyderabad, 16 July 2024 — The ASISC, Telangana Region, proudly hosted its highly anticipated Zonal Level Debate Competition at Nasr School, Khairtabad, on 12th July 2024 to promote problem solving, innovative thinking, help students to build link between words and hone skills in public speaking.
The topic for the Debate – ‘INDUSTRIALISATION AT THE COST OF THE ENVIRONMENT’ has garnered significant attention due to its implications for economic development and environmental sustainability. Students from 14 schools across Telangana Region presented their arguments in the competitive Debate which aim to explore whether industrial growth should be prioritised even if leads to adverse environmental impacts.
The competition was graced by an esteemed panel of judges, including Dr.Jayanti, a distinguished Professor, Mr. Victor Rao, a respected Journalist and Mr. Mohammed Imran, a professional Debater. Their expertise and discerning judgment added immense value to the event, ensuring a fair and insightful evaluation of the participants' performances. The debate was moderated by Mrs. Reshma Ullhas, who skilfully maintained an engaging and stimulating atmosphere throughout the event.
Principal Mr. Mir Mohiuddin Mohammed delivered an inspirational speech, encouraging the participants to embrace the spirit of healthy competition and continuous learning. Both the sides of the teams presented compelling arguments leaving a challenge to find a balance that promotes economic prosperity without compromising the planet’s health. The team from St. Ann’s High School was declared the Best Team and the Runner-up team was from Kalpa School. The Best Speaker was from St. Ann’s High School.
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where the top performers were honoured for their outstanding contributions and remarkable debating skills. The success of the Zonal Level Debate Competition reaffirms ASISC, Telangana Region's commitment to promoting academic excellence and nurturing the next generation of leaders and thinkers.
