Johnson Grammar School, ICSE and ISC, Mallapur takes immense pride in hosting the prestigious, Association of Schools for the Indian School Certificate (ASISC) Zonal Level Creative Writing Competition on 19th June 2024 for the Junior and Senior Categories.
The Junior Category (Grades IX-X) had 29 schools while the Senior Category (XIXII) had 15 schools who had registered their names for this prestigious event.
The Student Council of Johnson Grammar School, Mallapur, welcomed all the participants, guiding them to the Registration Desk. The participants, along with their escorts were helped in the completion of the registration process from 8:30 a.m. to 8:55 a.m.
The Inauguration Ceremony started at 9:00 a.m. in the Audio Visual room of the school with the Lighting of the Lamp by the Principal of Johnson Grammar School, Ms Srabanti Basu, and the dignitaries present for the event. A prayer song was offered to the Almighty which was followed by a rendition of a classical dance. The Principal welcomed the gathering and conveyed her best wishes to all the participants. The Academic Support Head, Ms Jayashree Parakkatil, briefed the participants about the rules and regulations of the competition.
All the participants were then escorted by the Student Council Members to the library and the topic was announced by the Principal at 9:30 a.m.
Topic for the Senior Category (XI-XII): “You have the power to control others’ minds”
Topic for the Junior Category (IX-X): “You have the ability to take the shape of any object of your choice (Limitless objects, limitless times)”
All the participants were given half an hour for preparation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and the writing time started from 10:10 a.m. and concluded at 11:40 a.m.

The event concluded with distribution of the participation certificates to every candidate and by proposing the Vote of Thanks.
Refreshments were served for all participants and the escort teachers after the event.
The event was a grand success as all the participants and the accompanying teachers expressed their happiness and joy.
The scripts were packed category wise and submitted to St. Joseph’s Malakpet office along with the registration and attendance sheets by our school representative.
