The ASISC Creative Writing Competition, a highly anticipated Annual Event was successfully hosted at Johnson Grammar School, ICSE, Habsiguda-TS008, on Wednesday, 19th June 2024. This report provides a comprehensive overview of the event, including the number of participating schools, the registration process, the conduction of the competition and the submission of answer scripts for evaluation.

Number of Participating Schools

A total of 28 schools from the region participated in this year's competition, showcasing the diversity and talent of young writers. Each school selected a group of students to represent them, resulting in a competitive and enriching event.

Registration Procedure

The registration process for the competition was meticulously planned to ensure a smooth experience for all participating schools. The steps were as follows:

  • 1. Invitation and Circular: An invitation and detailed circular were sent to all ICSE schools in the region by the ASISC regional office well in advance. The circular included the date, venue, and guidelines for the competition.
  • 2. Submission of Participant Details: Each school had to submit the names and grades of the participating students along with their contact information through an email.
  • 3. Confirmation of Registration: Upon successful submission, schools received a confirmation email with further instructions and an event schedule.
  • 4. On the spot registrations were accepted as per the instruction received by the ASISC office.

Conduction of the Competition

The competition was conducted with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring a fair and inspiring environment for all participants. The key steps were:

  • 1 . Arrival and Registration: On the day of the event, participants arrived at JohnsonGrammar School, Habsiguda by 8:30 a.m. A registration desk was set up at the entrance to verify participants against the registration list and provide them with their identification badges and seating arrangements.
  • 2 Inaugural Ceremony: The competition began with an inaugural ceremony which included a Welcome Address and the Rules of the competition by the Vice Principal.
  • 3. Announcement of the Topic by the Principal: Any picture you draw comes alive.
  • 4. Distribution of Writing Prompts: At 9:40 a.m., participants were escorted to the venue where they receive the writing prompts.
  • 5. Writing Session: The writing session lasted for an hour and a half, from 10:10 a.m. to 1 1 :40 a.m. Invigilator was present at each of the venues to ensure the rules were followed and to assist with any logistical needs.
  • 6. Collection of Answer Scripts: At the end of the writing session, answer scripts were collected and securely packed and sealed in Principal's Office and handed over to the ÅSISC official at 12:30 p.m.
  • 7. Attendance Sheet of the participants and the Judgement Criteria Sheet is enclosed along with the answer scripts.

Conclusion

The ASISC Creative Writing Competition at Johnson Grammar School, ICSE, HabsigudaTS008, was a resounding success. The event not only provided a platform for young writers to showcase their talent but also fostered a spirit of camaraderie and healthy competition among participating schools. The seamless execution of the event was a testament to the meticulous planning and coordination between the host school and the ASISC regional office.
