CISCE REGIONAL SPORTS AND GAMES - 2024 AP & TELANGANA REGION

HOST AND VENUE: JOHNSON GRAMMAR SCHOOL ICSE & Isc, MALLAPUR, HYD

The CISCE Carrom Tournament for A.P and Telangana was successfully hosted at Johnson Grammar School, ICSE & ISC, Mallapur (APOI 8) on 24th and the 25th June 2024. This report provides a comprehensive overview of the event, including the number of participating schools and the conduct of the competition.

Event Dates:

Day 1 (Girls): Monday, 24th June 2024

Day 2 (Boys): Tuesday, 25th June 2024

Location: Johnson Grammar School, ICSE & ISC, Mallapur, Hyderabad

Conduct of the event: The tournarnent was conducted over two days in an air-conditioned auditorium. Sixteen Carrom board sets, complete with board lighting, were arranged each day. The seating areas for umpires and players were well marked, ensuring a smooth conduct of the games. Lunch and refreshments were provided in the dining area for all participants and officials.

Chief Guests:

Day 1 (Girls): Mr. D. Ravinder Goud, an international carrom player and professional at the AG's Office.

Day 2 (Boys): Mr. Anil Israel, Principal of Johnson Grammar School Mallapur, President ASISC, AP & Telangana Region, and CISCE Sports & Games Joint Coordinator.

Participating Teams and Students:

Day 1 (Girls): 1 1 teams from various CISCE-affiliated schools.

U-14: 60 students

U-17: 50 students

U-19: 30 students

Total: 140 students

Day 2 (Boys): 14 teams from CISCE-affiliated schools.

U-14: 65 students

U-17: 64 students

U-19: 40 students

Total: 169 students

Total participants: 309 students

Coaches: 18 on Day 1, 22 on Day 2 (Total: 40 coaches)

Officials: 32 for both days Chief Official: 1 for both days Staff & Volunteers — 18

Total members attended: 400

Opening Ceremony:

The opening ceremony was conducted from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on both the days. It was attended by the Chief Guests, AP Telangana Subcommittee members, tournament officials, student participants, escort PETS, school heads, staff, and student volunteers. A representative from HSCP addressed the gathering, providing safety evacuation information. The Principal welcomed the participants, officials and teams were introduced, with each team and its players being announced and walking to their assigned places.

Tournament Format:

The tournament followed a League knockout format, with teams competing against each other in a best-of-three matches series.

The matches were played in accordance with the standardized Carrom rules, ensuring fairness and uniformity.

Umpires:

Qualified umpires were to oversee the matches and enforce the rules. The Umpires maintained a high level of professionalism and ensured fair play throughout the competition.

The tournament concluded by 6:45 p.m. The closing ceremony was held on the second day.

The CISCE Carrom Tournament at Johnson Grammar School was a grand success, with enthusiastic participation and competitive spirit demonstrated by all the teams.
